Molly Brennan - Track 1979 - 1982 - Interim Board Treasurer
Bio

Molly Brennan ran track for Michigan State University in 1978 - 1982, and was Captain
her Senior Year when they won the Big Ten Outdoor Championships. She graduated
with a double major in Computer Engineering and Humanities, and was a 4 year
member of the Honors College. She was the holder of a World, American and
Collegiate record for the sprint medley relay in 1980 (along with Cheryl Gilliam), broke
12 different MSU Varsity records, was All Big Ten for 4 years and an All American.
Highlights include: 1982 MSU Sportswomen of the Year, Dr. Feurig Award recipient,
recognized as one of the top 2 outstanding students at MSU, a 1982 Rhodes Scholar,
1993 inductee into the MSU Athletic Hall of Fame, in 1995 she was recognized as one
of the top 2 MSU athletes at the Big 10 Centennial celebration, the 1996 recipient of the
Nell Jackson Outstanding Alumna Award, a 1998 Scholar Athlete Alumni Award
recipient, and in 2005 was recognized with the MSU Alumni Service Award.
She attended Oxford University from 1982 - 1984 and graduated with a B-Lit/M-Lit
degree from the Final Honours School of Philosophy, Politics and Economics. She
was Captain and coach of Oxford University's Athletic team and awarded the most
valuable athlete for both the 109th and 110th Oxford-Cambridge meet. Molly worked as
an engineer for General Motors where she was the GM Sunrays driver/Engineer:
winner of the first solar challenge, holder of 4 world solar and electric land speed
records, and was in the Guinness Book of World Records. She has served on Tau
Beta Pi Executive Committee (secretary); appointed 3 times to serve on the Governor's
Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sport; served on the College of Engineering
Alumni Board of Directors; the MSU National Board of Directors; and the Honor College
Alumni Board, currently President. She served as a national committee chairperson for
the MSU Student-Athlete Academic Center Campaign, and served on the Capital
Campaign 2000, and on the The Capital Campaign for MSU. She served as the 1990
fall Commencement speaker for the University.
Brennan lives in Farmington Hills, Michigan with her husband Bill Devlin (a
Newfoundlander) and her two boys Eamon (11) and Sean (10). Brennan is currently
interim Board Treasurer of the Finish Line Club.
